 In our reading group we have been learning about inventors and innovators.

An innovator is a person who introduces new methods, ideas,or products.

Kid's can be inventors to because they just have to practice.

I would like to invent my own money maker because I could be rich.

Underwater Kingdom

Our literacy group has been focusing on the Underwater Kingdom.

An interesting thing about great white sharks is that they can have up to 300 teeth.Great white sharks also weigh up to 3000 Kg's.

Penguins are creatures that eat fish and waddle. Penguins also slide on their tummy. When Penguins hold their fins out that means that they are hot.

Marine Reserves are important because they help most  of the dolphins with there habitats.

I think that the lost city of Atlantis is not real because people would have probably found it by now.

The Sea And Me

In our literacy group we have been focusing on the sea.

An interesting thing about the dolphins are that they breath air and not water.

Marine Biologists are the people that take care of dolphins. Like feeding them and making sure that they don't die.

Shellfish are important to the sea because they improve habitat and make cleaner water.  

Seaweed is amazing because  It's the best dietary source of iodine

Athletics

 Last week we had athletics and the events were high jump,long jump,throw and sprints.

I really enjoyed the high jump because it took quite a while and I was really nervous because I had won last year so there was pressure on me. I knew that I could jump the bar because it was only 1.2 metres high. I have jumped 1.4 metres before, so that was a piece of cake.

Something that was a bit tricky, was in the 200 metre sprint, when I was a couple of metres away from the finish line. Mason was coming up behind me real fast and I was winded, but I carried on running and beat him by a few milliseconds.

I am really proud of all of the places I got throughout the day. I got 2nd in the 50,100 and 200 metre race and first in the ball throw, long jump and high jump.

Maths and Capacity

 This week in Maths, we have been focussing on mass and capacity.For this we were doing baking with our teacher making biscuits and we were also doing some challenges in collaborative groups.

I really enjoyed doing the baking and the cleaning up because I got a bit more time off work.

Something that was a bit tricky was flattening the biscuits enough so that they can cook properly.

I am really looking forward to doing more challenges in our groups because I have a friend in my group which makes it a lot more fun.

My Holiday

In the holidays I went to Mcdonald's with my mum.I got 10 chicken nuggets, large fries, two sweet and sour sauces, large rasbery fanta mcfloat,  a large choc fudge sunday and my mum got a apple sauce with a side of icream and cream.

First I ate the chicken nuggets (3 at a time.) Next I ate the fries, gulped the whole lot down.Then I slurped the mcfloat down my throught. After that I licked the icecream off of the top of the sunday and scooped the rest out,then I scraped the chocolate off the side of the container.

today I will be making a form. This might be hard.

Me and My Mum

On Friday all the mum's came to  the class I am in.

I had to decorate a cupcake and make a cup of tea for my mum.

I played Twister with my mum and mum won unexpectedly.

We also played Animal Bingo with Mason and his mum.

Me and mum had to have a photo with each other.

How have you been kind this week?

I  have been kind by including people in my games even when there is already a lot of people playing.

What questions have you asked this week?

This week I have asked when the term ends and I have also asked how long the holidays are and when we start term two.

What is one thing that you have learned this week?

This week I have learned how to use a split pin and use the split pin to hold a clock together so that I can spin the big hand and the little hand to make the right time.

What was your favorite mistake this week?

My favorite mistake this week was when I tried to get the basketball in the hoop and I missed but then the ball bounced right back in the hoop.

How can you make next week great?

Next week I can make it great by doing all of my work on time so that I can do the celebrators.

 

How Maui Fished Up The North Island

Today we were doing a play about how Maui fished up the North Island.  

I found it tricky to drop the hook in the right spot because if I missed I might not have caught the North Island.

I found it easy to do the acting because all I had to do was act out a little bit of stuff and all I had to say was stay strong and that was really good.                     

Cole looked quite funny as a jaggy mountain from the North Island but he was not in my group.

My groups name was mawhero,we didn't get to choose which is extremely sad. 

I was Maui the guy with the biggest mussels.

Ormond News

 Today I was learning how to record somebody on screencastify and post it on my blog.

I found it really easy to interview James.

I did not find it hard to do anything at all.

It was my first time posting a video.

Week 6 Post

 We are learning how to post on our blog. The trickiest thing  about posting on my blog is not knowing what to post. The easiest thing to do when I am posting on my blog would be doing the labels. I need to start to comment on other peoples blogs.

Kawa of Care

 Today we were learning how to be clever with our devices and look after them very well.

My favorite part was making the background all colorful and cool.

It was hard to find a good font for my name because there were so many different ones to choose from. 

It was my first ever time doing the callouts.

Self Portraits

 Today we were learning how to make things look like ourselves by using the curve and polyline tools. The hardest part was to do the shirt because it was hard to get it around my neck. My favorite part was to do the eyes because it was easy. It was easy because all I had to do was do a circle then a circle inside the circle twice and then add a little bit of white. I think it looks just like me don't you?

Forklift Hold

Today we were learning how to forklift hold our Chromebooks  so they can live a happy life.

Stem Challenge 1

Today we did a challenge.The challenge was in teams and it was who could make the longest paper with one piece.My teams paper was 6 meters and 6 centermeters. It looked like we were going to win but we

came second.
